Ingredients

  • 160 g tortilla chips About 40 g per person.
  • 200 g shredded cheddar cheese 50 g per person.
  • 120 g canned black beans, drained and rinsed 30 g per person.
  • 60 g sliced jalapeños, fresh or pickled 15 g per person.
  • 1 medium tomato, diced About 120 g.
  • 60 g red onion, finely chopped 15 g per person.
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro About 8 g.

Equipment

  • 1 air fryer basket style, at least 4 quart capacity
  • 1 baking sheet or large platter for assembling
  • 1 tongs

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3 minutes while you prepare the nachos.
  2. On a large baking sheet or platter, spread out the tortilla chips in a single, even layer.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheese over the chips, followed by black beans, jalapeños, diced tomato, and red onion.
  4. Carefully transfer the prepared nachos to the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches to prevent overcrowding.
  5. Air fry for 4–6 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and slightly bubbly. Monitor closely to avoid burning.
  6. Using tongs, carefully remove the nachos and transfer them to a serving platter.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro. Add guacamole, sour cream, and lime wedges on the side for topping, if desired.
  8. Serve immediately for best texture.

Notes

For added protein, top with cooked ground beef, shredded chicken, or crumbled tofu before air frying.
Customize with your favorite toppings—olives, corn, or different cheeses work well.
Air fryer wattage and size may vary; check nachos a minute before the end to avoid overcooking.
Serve with salsa or hot sauce if you like extra heat.
