Ingredients

  • 90 grams all-purpose flour
  • 56 grams unsalted butter, melted
  • 50 grams brown sugar packed
  • 25 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • teaspoon salt
  • 70 grams semisweet chocolate chips
  • vanilla ice cream optional for serving
  • chocolate sauce optional for serving

Equipment

  • 1 air fryer
  • 2 mini oven-safe skillets or ramekins 4–5 inch diameter
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk or spoon
  • 1 set measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 rubber spatula

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until combined and smooth.
  3. Stir in egg yolk and vanilla extract until incorporated.
  4. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined; don’t overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  6. Evenly divide the dough between the two greased mini skillets or ramekins. Smooth the tops.
  7. Place skillets or ramekins in the air fryer basket, making sure they’re not touching.
  8. Air fry for 7–8 minutes, until the tops are golden and the edges start to set but centers are still soft.
  9. Remove carefully (they’ll be hot!). Let cool for 2 minutes.
  10. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce if desired.

Notes

For a crispier edge, air fry an extra 1–2 minutes, keeping centers soft.
Use milk or dark chocolate chips as preferred.
Substitute with chopped chocolate or add nuts for extra texture.
Great for splitting or enjoying as an individual treat.
