- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan with a bit of oil or non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk thoroughly to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
- Pour in the milk and olive oil (or melted butter). Stir with a spoon or spatula until you have a soft, slightly sticky dough. Don’t overmix—just combine until everything comes together.
- Transfer the dough into the prepared loaf pan. Use the back of a spoon to gently spread it evenly.
- Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
You can add up to 60g (½ cup) of grated cheese, herbs, or chopped olives for extra flavor.
This bread is best eaten fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Serve warm with butter, as sandwich bread, or with soup.
