Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts 125 g each, total 500 g.
  • 4 pieces sandwich buns Preferably brioche or whole wheat.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 leaves fresh lettuce
  • 2 medium tomatoes Sliced.
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese Optional.
  • 1 small red onion Thinly sliced.
  • as needed spray cooking spray For grill pan, if needed.

Equipment

  • 1 large skillet or grill pan
  • 1 tongs
  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 measuring spoons

Method
 

  1. Preheat the skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the surface or use cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, coat chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well to evenly season.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in the hot skillet. Cook for 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and golden-brown. Internal temperature should reach 75°C (165°F).
  4. Optionally, place a cheddar cheese slice on each chicken breast during the final minute of cooking to melt.
  5. While the chicken is cooking, slice the tomatoes and onions. Prepare the lettuce leaves and buns.
  6. Toast the buns lightly on the skillet for 1 minute until golden.
  7. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom part of each bun.
  8. Layer lettuce, cooked chicken breast, tomato slices, and red onion on each bun. Top with the other half of the bun.
  9. Serve immediately while warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

You can customize with pickles, different sauces, or spicy mayonnaise.
Swap cheddar for Swiss, provolone, or your favorite cheese.
Use grilled or pan-seared chicken for desired texture.
Make it lighter with whole-grain buns or additional veggies.
