Ingredients

  • 8 slices thick bread (brioche or Texas toast)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup flavored liquid coffee creamer such as French vanilla or hazelnut
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • a pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter for cooking

Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 shallow baking dish
  • 1 non-stick skillet or griddle
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 measuring cups

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, coffee creamer, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  2. Pour the mixture into a shallow baking dish for easier dipping.
  3. Preheat your non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a bit of butter to coat the surface.
  4. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are well soaked but not falling apart.
  5. Place soaked bread slices onto the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.
  7. Serve the French toast warm with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, berries, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
