Ingredients

  • 8 pieces pork sausages
  • 8 rashers smoked back bacon
  • 4 medium eggs
  • 400 grams canned baked beans
  • 4 medium tomatoes, halved
  • 200 grams button mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 pieces hash browns store-bought or homemade
  • 8 slices white or brown bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter for frying
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • as needed cooking oil

Equipment

  • 1 large frying pan or skillet
  • 1 grill pan or oven grill
  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 toaster
  • 1 cooking tongs
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 plate for serving

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) if cooking hash browns in the oven. Otherwise, use a frying pan.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning often until browned and cooked through.
  3. Grill or fry the bacon rashers for 2-3 minutes on each side until crisp.
  4. Place the hash browns on a baking sheet and cook in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or fry them according to the package instructions.
  5. Place the tomato halves cut side down on the grill pan or in the frying pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened and lightly charred.
  6. Fry the sliced mushrooms in a bit of butter for 5-6 minutes until golden.
  7. Pour the baked beans into a saucepan and heat gently, stirring occasionally, until hot.
  8. Toast the bread slices in a toaster or under the grill. Butter them if desired.
  9. Melt a little butter in a nonstick pan over low heat. Crack in the eggs, season with salt and pepper, and fry gently until the whites are set (about 2-3 minutes for sunny side up).
  10. Arrange all the cooked ingredients on a plate for each person: sausages, bacon, eggs, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns, and toast.

Notes

You can substitute pork sausages and bacon for vegetarian versions if desired.
Black pudding, potato scones, or fried bread can be added for a more traditional touch.
Serve with tea, coffee, or a glass of fresh orange juice.
Adjust the number of items according to appetite—these are classic portions.
