- Let the butter sit at room temperature until soft for easy mixing.
- Peel and finely mince the garlic. For a stronger flavor, use a garlic press.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice (if using).
- Mash and mix everything together using a fork or whisk until thoroughly combined and smooth.
- Taste and adjust salt or garlic as preferred.
- For a completely smooth and melted garlic butter, transfer mixture to a small saucepan and heat gently for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Serve immediately as a spread, or transfer to a dish, cover, and refrigerate for later use.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of chili flakes or grated parmesan.
This garlic butter will keep in the fridge, covered, for up to 1 week.
Let rest at room temperature for a few minutes before serving to make it spreadable.
