Ingredients

  • 4 fillets tilapia About 150g each.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lemon zested and juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste wedge lemon For serving.
  • to taste tablespoon fresh parsley Chopped, for garnish.

Equipment

  • 1 Grill (gas or charcoal) or grill pan
  • 1 Tongs
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Brush (for oiling grill)
  • 1 Fish spatula

Method

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C). Brush the grates clean and lightly oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with the prepared marinade.
  4. Place the tilapia fillets on the grill. Grill for 3–4 minutes on the first side until grill marks appear and the fish releases easily.
  5. Flip gently with a fish spatula and grill for an additional 3–4 minutes until the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove the fillets from the grill. Transfer to a serving platter.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges. Serve immediately.
  8. For extra flavor, consider marinating the fillets for up to 30 minutes in the fridge before grilling.

Notes

Tilapia cooks quickly, so keep a close watch to prevent it from overcooking.
For extra flavor, marinate the fillets for up to 30 minutes in the fridge before grilling.
You can use the same recipe for other mild white fish such as cod or sole.
