Method
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium mixing bowl.
- Mash the avocados gently with a fork or potato masher to your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
- Add the lime juice, diced red onion, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, jalapeño (if using), salt, and pepper to the bowl.
- Stir gently until all ingredients are combined. Taste and adjust salt or lime juice as needed.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite Mexican dishes.
- For best results, use ripe but not overly soft avocados. If not serving right away, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to minimize browning.
- Add a pinch of cumin or garlic for extra flavor if desired.
Notes
For best results, use ripe but not overly soft avocados. If not serving right away, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to minimize browning. Add a pinch of cumin or garlic for extra flavor if desired. Jalapeño adds mild heat; omit for a milder guacamole.
