Method
- Sift the matcha powder into a medium bowl to remove any lumps, ensuring a smooth latte.
- Add hot water (not boiling) to the matcha powder and whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion until the matcha has dissolved and a light froth forms on top.
- Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until steaming but not boiling. Optionally, froth the milk for extra creaminess if you have a frother.
- Divide the whisked matcha evenly into two cups.
- Sweeten the steamed milk with honey or maple syrup if desired, then pour the milk into each cup over the matcha.
- Stir gently to combine and enjoy immediately.
Notes
You can use any plant-based milk (almond, oat, soy) for a dairy-free version.
For iced matcha, follow the same steps and pour the latte over ice.
Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey/maple syrup as per your taste.
