Ingredients
  

  • 200 grams tortilla chips
  • 200 grams shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican cheese blend
  • 1 can black beans 400 grams/15 ounces, drained and rinsed
  • 1 medium tomato diced, about 120 grams
  • 1 small red onion diced, about 70 grams
  • 1 unit jalapeño thinly sliced, optional for heat
  • 1 unit avocado diced
  • 60 grams jarred pickled jalapeños optional
  • 60 ml sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 unit lime cut into wedges
  • to taste unit salt
  • to taste unit pepper

Equipment

  • 1 large baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper or aluminum foil optional, for easy cleanup
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 can opener

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easier cleanup.
  3. Spread half the tortilla chips evenly over the baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese and half the black beans over the chips.
  5. Layer with the remaining chips, cheese, and beans.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven. Immediately top with diced tomato, diced onion, fresh jalapeño slices (if using), avocado, and pickled jalapeños.
  8. Sprinkle chopped cilantro over the nachos, and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  9. Drizzle the sour cream on top, or serve it on the side.
  10. Serve hot with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the nachos.

Notes

For extra protein, add cooked, shredded chicken or seasoned ground beef before baking.
Add black olives, corn, or any favorite toppings.
Make it spicy with hot sauce or extra jalapeños.
Serve immediately for the best texture.
