Ingredients
  

  • 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • 240 g sour cream
  • 28 g taco seasoning
  • 180 g prepared salsa For a spicier kick, use hot salsa.
  • 80 g romaine or iceberg lettuce, shredded Use about 2 cups.
  • 113 g cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 40 g black olives, sliced
  • 120 g tomatoes, diced
  • 30 g green onions, sliced
  • as needed tortilla chips, for serving

Equipment

  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 hand mixer or whisk
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 9x13 inch serving dish or shallow platter

Method
 

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or whisk to blend together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning until smooth and well combined.
  2. Spread the mixture evenly onto the bottom of your 9x13 inch serving dish or a shallow platter using a spatula.
  3. Spoon the salsa evenly over the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Layer shredded lettuce on top of the salsa.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the lettuce layer.
  6. Top with sliced olives, diced tomatoes, and green onions.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld, if time permits.
  8. Serve cold with tortilla chips.

Notes

You can add more toppings such as diced avocado or jalapenos for extra flavor.
For a spicier kick, use hot salsa or extra taco seasoning.
For a lighter version, substitute low-fat cream cheese and sour cream.
